Google announced yesterday that it has removed right-rail ads for “highly commercial” queries. It has instead replaced them with an extra paid search ad on top, for a total of 4. The ads below the organic listings will still exist. This will have a huge effect on the layout of Google search engine results pages, or SERPs.   Google had been testing this 4-ad model for a while, and it went live universally (all countries and languages) on February 22.
